Cybersecurity Crossroads: Ransomware impacts, regulations, and solutions

Dennis Chung is the Chief Security Officer of Microsoft Singapore and has been with the company for the past 15 years. He works with key cybersecurity stakeholders across government, industries, and academia to drive efforts in building skill sets and cyber resiliency and safety. Alongside that, he also advises on tech-security policies and standards and endeavors to partner with customers and partners to right-size security positions that allows tech to freely innovate in a cyber safe manner. Prior to his current appointment, Dennis was a Technology Evangelist driving deep technical engagements with Servers & Tools Business, and Office Business Solutions. He was also technology strategist and leader for Defense and Homeland, Education, Government and Healthcare, and was responsible for bringing cloud innovations (M365, Azure, D365) to public sector customers. He specializes in Defense and Education technologies. He is currently 1st Vice Chair of SGTech Cloud and Data Chapter, Committee member of SGTech Data Protection Advisory, member of Singapore Standards Committee for Cloud Computing and Data Standards, and Chief Expert of Cloud Skills (Worldskills Singapore). He is passionate about grooming the next generation and actively shares his knowledge freely. Prior to Microsoft, he taught and worked in several public sector entities, and was also awarded Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professionals for 7 years.

Tommy Foo is the Senior Director, APJ-MEA Head of Marketing at Acronis, a globally renowned cyber protection company that seamlessly integrates data safety, accessibility, privacy, authenticity, and security (SAPAS) into a unified solution. In his role, Tommy spearheads Field and Channel Marketing initiatives across the APJ-MEA region, aligning strategies with Acronis's mission to safeguard data through its innovative solutions. With a career spanning over two decades, Tommy has demonstrated profound expertise in global marketing and Martech management. He has donned leadership hats at multinational behemoths, including Johnson Controls, Grab, Linkedin, Symantec (BlueCoat) Systems, and Polycom. Notably, before his tenure at Acronis, Tommy played a pivotal role at Grab Holdings as the Global Supply Head, overseeing Business CRM and reporting directly to both the CMO and CIO at different junctures. His multifaceted experience encompasses the implementation of Marketing A.I. (predictive marketing) that has bolstered marketing operations supporting an extensive team of over 60 marketers. He has managed some of Asia's largest marketing databases, ushered 360 IMC across a slew of MNC organizations, and has been the architect behind the Marketing Tech-Stack for prominent Decacorns in South East Asia. Beyond technical expertise, Tommy has adeptly managed commercial strategic partnership relations with top-tier global brands within the built environment. Fueled by a fervor for digital marketing and the intricate world of marketing technologies, Tommy contributes to academia as an Adjunct Associate Professor and Tutorial Lecturer at Singapore's prestigious Nanyang Technological University's Nanyang Business School. Tommy's educational background is equally commendable, holding a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Advertising from Curtin Technology University. He further honed his business acumen by obtaining an Executive Master of Business Administration from Nanyang Technological University.
