This webinar explores how to back up and recover OT systems including legacy and airgapped environments without increasing operational complexity. While architectures vary, common OT challenges like limited IT access and strict uptime requirements highlight the vital role of reliable backup and recovery in maintaining operational continuity.

Power and energy: OT systems in power generation and energy operations are often geographically distributed — from substations and wind farms to remote pumping stations and offshore platforms. These environments depend on SCADA systems, PLCs, HMIs, historians and engineering workstations all of which can be difficult to access and timeconsuming to rebuild.

Pharmaceuticals: Biopharma manufacturing relies on validated systems, precise process control and strict regulatory requirements. Disruptions affecting batch records, MES or laboratory systems can delay production and introduce compliance risks.

Manufacturing (automotive, chemicals, pulp and paper, food and beverage, and other): Highly automated production lines depend on a mix of modern and legacy OT systems controlling robotics, process automation, batch processing, packaging and quality operations. Unplanned downtime or data loss can disrupt entire facilities, impacting product safety, traceability, regulatory compliance and leading to spoilage or production waste.

Construction: Large infrastructure and commercial projects rely on site-based OT systems, connected machinery and building management systems (BMS). Disruptions to site connectivity or automated equipment can delay timelines, increase costs and impact safety and compliance requirements.

Utilities: Continuous operation is essential in utilities, including water and wastewater treatment facilities, to protect public health and meet regulatory requirements. Many plants run legacy control systems with limited connectivity and small IT teams.

Metals and mining: Harsh and remote operating conditions are common in metals and mining environments, including steel, aluminum and extraction operations. OT systems control processing and safety-critical functions where downtime can be costly and dangerous.

The same principles apply to other OT environments and industries, depending on system architecture, operational requirements and connectivity constraints.

During the session, you’ll see a live demo of Acronis Cyber Protect and how backup and recovery can be implemented in real-world OT environments, followed by a live Q&A with Senior Solution Engineers.
