Previously Patrick held executive leadership roles as CEO of Host Europe GmbH and Group CEO of Host Europe Group (HEG), where he served as Group COO – having grown HEG from a small business to one that sold for $1.8 billion. He earned his MBA from The Open University in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, England.

SB is the founder of Acronis, currently serving as the company’s Chairman and Chief Research Officer. Prior to this role, SB served as Acronis’ Chief Executive Officer from 2013-2021. SB was also Acronis’ first Chairman of the Board from 2003-2007 and again from 2019 to present-day.

Before founding Acronis, SB served as Parallels’ CEO until 2011, a company that operates as a global leader in virtualization and automation software. SB still provides leadership to Parallels today as the company’s Executive Chairman. SB is also the co-founder and Executive Chairman of Acumatica, and a Senior Partner at Runa Capital, a global technology-focused venture capital firm he co-founded with university colleagues in 2010.

As of July 1, 2021, SB has stepped down as CEO of Acronis so he can better lead the company’s technology and research strategy as Chief Research Officer. SB’s role now includes a larger focus on overseeing and directing the company’s advanced technologies, as well as its university relations program – including the Schaffhausen Institute of Technology (SIT) in Switzerland, which he co-founded in 2019.

SB sits on the Governing Board of the Centre for Quantum Technologies in Singapore. He holds a B.S. in Physics, an M.S. (Hons) in Physics and Electrical Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from MIPT.

As an Associate Partner at IBM, Petra served the insurance industry in Europe and Asia with product design and technical solutions in emerging markets. Earlier, she worked for Accenture for nine years, first as a consultant and then Managing Director, serving the European insurance industry.

Her extensive experience in the field of actuarial science includes a stint as Global Director at SunGard, where she led the Actuarial teams in Europe and Asia. At Pro Insurance Services and at FTI, she led actuarial and forensic investigations over a wide range of topics, including money laundering, international capital reserve needs, fraud and suicide claims, compliance issues for insurance industry start-ups, and due diligence reviews. She worked as an actuary in the U.S. for US Fidelity & Guaranty and then Aetna. She is a licensed actuary of the Swiss and German actuarial societies and an affiliate of the British actuarial society, earned a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from the University of Münster and have done post-graduate research at the University of Maryland.

Mr. Kurt Zubler has been a Member of the Cantonal Council since 2014 and previously politicized for a long time in the Schaffhausen city parliament.

He mainly works as an integration delegate in the Canton Schaffhausen; is the Managing Director of Integres, an organization aimed at smooth integration of the immigrant population of Schaffhausen into the local society and their support on the way to obtaining better employment and study opportunities in the town. Mr. Zubler is an initiator of a pilot project on integration courses that help refugees find employment in Switzerland. Initially, this project was organized in the Canton of Schaffhausen (2017), and later in Switzerland (2018).

Acronis is actively monitoring the incidence of COVID-19 in this area. We are following guidance from local health departments regarding the event. At this time, the Acronis #CyberFit Summit – Schaffhausen will take place as planned. However, if you are sick or feel like you are getting sick, we ask that you please stay home. Currently, older adults and persons with underlying health conditions are at an increased risk of severe illness and complications from COVID-19. Examples of underlying health conditions include heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, people with weakened immune systems, and people who are pregnant. The recommendation is that people in high-risk groups consult with their healthcare provider about attending any large gathering. If you do choose to attend the Acronis #CyberFit Summit – Schaffhausen, please keep in mind the following recommendations on how to keep yourself and others healthy:
